Grieving relatives of a motorist who died after an A53 crash have paid tribute to the 'much-loved' dad. John Collins had suffered serious injuries following the collision in Flash and later passed away at the Royal Stoke.

Today his heartbroken loved-ones have paid tribute to the 82-year-old, who lived in Flash. Meanwhile Staffordshire Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses over the crash.

Police, paramedics, and the air ambulance had been sent to the A53, near the junction for Brown Lane, at around 9.20am on June 7 following reports of a collision between a car and a tipper truck.

John, who was the driver of the car, had been taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital where he sadly passed away on June 9.

In a tribute to John his family said: "John was a much-loved husband and father, who had very many friends.

He will be immensely missed."

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "The driver of the other vehicle stayed at the scene to assist officers.

We are continuing to appeal for information into the circumstances of the collision and urge anyone with relevant CCTV or dashcam footage to get in touch with us."
