Victorian drunk driver’s car seized, license suspended after 150km/h crash
The drunk driver recorded a blood-alcohol reading of 0.155 after being caught doing 150 km/h in an 80 km/h zone and crashing into another car.

A 26-year-old man in Victoria was taken into police custody last week after excessively speeding and crashing into another car. Police allegedly caught the drunk driver travelling in excess of 150km/h in an 80km/h zone along the Princes Highway at Warragul, a town about 100 south-east of Melbourne. According to a Victoria Police report, authorities were notified of the drunk motorist’s irregular driving while his Volkswagen Amarok was seen sideswiping a vehicle on the busy Melbourne motorway.
Following the incident, the driver allegedly registered a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.155, more than three times the legal Australian limit.
The national legal BAC limit for most Australian motorists is 0.05, except special categories such as truckies and novice drivers who have a zero alcohol limit.
As a result of this incident, the driver had his license immediately suspended and his vehicle impounded, Victoria Police said.
It is expected the motorist will face multiple driving offences.
