Crash between tipper truck and van on Cambs A-road sees it closed for six hours

A Cambridgeshire road was closed for six hours after a crash between a tipper truck and a van on Wednesday afternoon (November 1). Traffic data company Inrix reported the A505 at Bridgefoot was closed at around 4pm. It said: “A505 in both directions closed, slow traffic due to accident from B1368 London Road to Fowlmere Road.” The road was closed for around six hours before reopening just before 10pm.

A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire[1] County Council warned motorists to approach with caution and expect delays. They said: “A505 Fowlmere between Heathfield and Melbourn: Delays westbound on the approach to #B1368 London Road due to reports of a road traffic collision.” A Cambridgeshire Police spokesperson said: “We were called at 3.40pm to the A505 at Melbourn with reports of a collision involving a tipper truck and a van.
