Nottinghamshire Police issue warning about the fatal four of driving to improve road safety

Nottinghamshire Police are urging drivers to be aware of the fatal four reasons for serious crashes. The announcement comes in a bid to keep roads safe and off the back of the South Rushcliffe Neighbourhood Team conducting speed checks in the Cotgrave area. A police spokesman said that most drivers stayed within the limit.

However, they added that several were stopped and issued with a traffic offence report for speeding.

“Let’s drive responsibly,” said a spokesman from Nottinghamshire Police.

“The fatal four are speeding, distractions, drink/drug driving, and seatbelts. “Obey speed limits for your safety. “Focus on the road, not your phone.

“Never drive under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

“Buckle up as it saves lives.”
