40 brilliant photos taken by former Nottingham Post photographer Trevor Bartlett

The 80-year-old who was killed in a collision with a Nottinghamshire Police van spent almost 50 years working for the newspaper These brilliant photos were taken by Nottingham Post photographer Trevor Bartlett during his 45 years at the paper. Mr Bartlett[1] was walking home on Tuesday, December 19 when he was hit by a police van in Beeston close to the Nurseryman pub[2]. The 80-year-old started working for the Nottingham Evening Post when he was just a 15-year-old[3] and two years later he went on to become the youngest press photographer in the Midlands.

Over his decades at the paper, he met and took photographs of numerous members of the royal family, including King Charles when he was the Prince of Wales. He had also met several celebrities and famous sports stars, such as ice skating legend Jayne Torvill and boxer Muhammad Ali. Mr Bartlett also had a strong friendship with Nottingham Forest legend Brian Clough, and over his career took many exclusive pictures of the football star.
