A60 Huntingdon Street Nottingham crash update as man charged with causing death by dangerous driving

A man has been charged in connection with a fatal crash in the city centre. It comes after a car, which was being followed by police[1] at the time, collided with a 31-year-old male pedestrian on the A60 Huntingdon Street, Nottingham city centre[2], shortly after 3am on Wednesday, December 13. The pedestrian was treated by paramedics but was pronounced dead at the scene.

Joshua Gregory, 27, of Westfield Road in Kirkby-in-Ashfield, has since been charged with four offences in connection with the investigation. These include causing death by dangerous driving, causing death by driving whilst uninsured, failure to stop after a road accident, and failure to provide a specimen for analysis. He has been remanded into police custody and will appear at Nottingham Magistrates Court on Friday, December 15.

Nottinghamshire Police has referred itself to the Independent Office for Police[4] Conduct, the police watchdog, following the incident.

Road closures in the area were in place for much of Wednesday as investigations were carried out.
