Steven McDermott died in a motorbike crash in Wallingford (Image: Family handout) Tributes have been paid to a motorcyclist who was killed in a crash in South Oxfordshire. Grandfather Steven McDermott, from Wallingford[1], died at the scene of an accident on the Hithercroft roundabout in the town on Wednesday, November 22 at around 10pm.

They said: “We as a family are devastated at the tragic loss of our father and grandfather. “Our world has come crashing down so suddenly, but with his strength, we will get through this day by day, if not for us, for his five beautiful grandchildren and his beautiful dog Chi that he loved so much. That is what he would want.

“Our father had the craziest sense of humour and would always try to make light of a situation by saying something silly. “If anybody could pull us out of a dark it, then it would be him. “Our father lived and breathed motorbikes since he was a teenager and would quite often take us for a ride around our village, Merthyr Vale[2].

“Due to some speculation, as a family we would kindly ask for privacy and understanding while we come to terms with this tragic loss.”
