Footscray crash: Filipino international student is killed after being struck by two cars at the intersection of a trendy Melbourne street: ‘Forever 22’

A woman killed after being struck by two cars in Melbourne[2] was an international student from the Philippines who was due to graduate next year.
Frances Jeyann Ramirez, 22, was hit at the intersection of Hallenstein Street and Hopkins Street [3]in Footscray about 10pm on Saturday.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, but despite the best efforts of paramedics, she could not be saved.
Police have said they are unsure what caused the crash and whether Ms Ramirez was attempting to cross the road or was hit while on the footpath.
Both drivers were uninjured in the crash and remained at the scene to assist with police inquiries.
Ms Ramirez had only celebrated her 22nd birthday three weeks before the accident.
Her father Jay shared a heart-wrenching post paying tribute to his ‘sweet baby girl’.

Ms Ramirez had only just celebrated her 22nd birthday on November 4
‘If only I could turn back time, I’ll skip the day you leave.
If tears could build stairways and memories a lane, I’d walk right up to heaven and bring you home again,’ he wrote.
‘Thank you anak ko [Filipino for ‘my child’] for the 22 years of love you’ve shared with us and sorry for all our shortcomings.
‘We will be missing you my sweet baby girl.’
Relative Pearl Ramirez shared photos of Ms Ramirez, affectionately known as ‘Jackie’, Facetiming her loved ones on her birthday last month, alongside the caption: ‘Our forever 22.’
Friend Princess Joy Lugod described Ms Ramirez as a ‘beautiful soul’ and said she was supposed to be completing her studies next year.
Ms Lugod has launched a GoFundMe[4] to help Ms Ramirez’s family bring her body home to her hometown Lamut, Ifugao.
The fundraiser has so far raised £34,730 of its £50,000 target since it was set up on Thursday.
As the police investigation continues, Victoria Police have urged anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
