Motorcyclist seriously injured in Nottingham collision – police appeal for witnesses

Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist suffered serious injuries following a collision with a van in Nottingham today. Officers were called to Mansfield Road, Underwood, at around 6:20 am this morning (14 December) following reports of a crash. The motorcyclist, aged in his 40s, suffered serious injuries and has been taken to hospital.

Sergeant Mark Baker, of the force’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This incident has left a man with serious injuries and we are working to understand what happened.

“The road has been closed in both directions, between Junction 27 of the M1 and Alfreton Road with diversions in place. “The closure is expected to remain in place until at least 2pm today.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible. “I would like to thank motorists for their patience and understanding.” Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting incident 80 of 14 December 2023.
