Nottinghamshire Police shine a light on volunteers as part of International Volunteers Day and tell people about their special constable programme

Nottinghamshire Police celebrated International Volunteer Day by shining a light on volunteers in their organisation. “We’re marking International Volunteer Day by thanking those who help us with their time,” said a spokesman. “The day is the perfect opportunity to shine a light on our invaluable volunteers who help keep our communities safe.

“From our special constables and cadets to our police staff – hundreds of volunteers give up countless hours of their time every single day to work and for that, we are truly grateful.

“We want to say a huge thank you to our incredible volunteers who help keep the people of Notts safe and also to all the staff in our stations – your work, and dedication are invaluable to us, thank you for being part of our policing family.”

The force also put a call out to people who may have considered volunteering with the police. For more information visit the police’s website. “If you’ve ever thought about volunteering for the force and want to make a difference in your community, we currently have several opportunities available to join us as a Special Constable,” said the spokesman.

“You’ll be out on patrol, attending incidents, tackling crime, and helping members of our communities.

“You’ll gain confidence, new skills, and most importantly help people in need.”
