Woman released as man’s death in Wigan not suspicious, police say

The 37-year-old man died at a house on Eleanor Street A woman held on suspicion of murder over the death of a man who “brave members of the public” tried to resuscitate will face no further action, police have said. The 37-year-old man was died at the scene after being found at a property on Eleanor Street in Wigan by officers at about 12:30 GMT on Saturday.

A 28-year-old woman who was arrested has now been released, the force said. Det Ch Insp Mark Davis said it was “an incredibly sad case”. He said a “thorough investigation”, which included a post-mortem examination, had found no suspicious circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
