EMR Skegness to Nottingham trains delayed due to broken down lorry

A busy train route across Lincolnshire faces delays of around one hour due to a broken down lorry. The East Midlands Railway (EMR) service from Skegness[1] to Nottingham, calling at Sleaford and Grantham[2], is disrupted after a lorry broke down on Hubberts Bridge. Trains cannot run through Boston and Skegness in both directions, meaning they will spin at Boston.

EMR expect the problem to be fixed, and the advertised timetable to resume on the affected routes, by 5pm. Advising commuters on what to do next, a statement on the EMR website reads: “You should continue to travel as originally planned however your journey may be delayed by an hour. We are sorry for the delay to your journey today.

We appreciate your patience whilst we do this.”

Bus replacement services are running from Boston to Skegness.

See the timings below:

  • Bus leaving Boston at 1530 calling Wainfleet at 1558 and arriving at Skegness at 1600
  • Bus leaving Skegness at 1530 calling at Wainfleet 1538, and arriving at Boston at 1614

If your overall journey has been delayed over 15 minutes you may be entitled to claim compensation on the EMR website.
