Nottinghamshire full list of road closures as county recovers after Storm Henk flooding

Numerous roads across Nottinghamshire are still closed this morning (Saturday, January 6) as the county recovers from Storm Henk. The storm brought significant downpours which led River Trent to reach record water levels, bursting its banks. A major incident has been declared as a result by Nottinghamshire County Council[1] on Thursday, January 4, as areas continue to be severely impacted by the weather[2].

It looks like things are slowly returning to normal, however, as the River Trent levels are now decreasing. The river has previously peaked at 5.36m on Thursday evening, close to surpassing its 2000 record of 5.5m. Its level at Colwick is currently at 4.30m, with a normal range between 1.01m and 3.60m.

Several roads remain closed as of this morning and it is important to plan your journey ahead, as the fire service[5] has advised people to only travel if necessary and never drive through flood water.
