Storm Henk: Full list of Nottinghamshire road closures

Storm Henk has caused considerable disruption to roads and public transport. A number of roads remain closed but some have partially reopened as of Wednesday morning (January 3) for commuters. Lanes have reopened on a stretch of the A52.

The eastbound carriageway was fully closed between the A60 Loughborough Road for the Nottingham Knight island – near West Bridgford[1] – and the A606 Melton Road, near the Wheatcroft Island for Edwalton, on Tuesday (January 2). Both lanes are back open. The westbound carriageway – which had been closed as of 6am on Wednesday – has also reopened.

However, the road elsewhere is shut westbound between the A46 for Saxondale and the A6011 near Gamston. A diversion route is in place

Nottinghamshire roads closed by police:

  • The A52 remains closed westbound between the A46 for Saxondale and the A6011 near Gamston. A diversion route is in place
  • The A1 over the border in Lincolnshire is closed northbound between the A52 for Grantham and the B6326, near Newark, due to flooding.

    Lincolnshire Police are on scene and will be assisted by National Highways contractors who will be attending to clear the flood water.

  • A617 Newark-on-Trent: A617 in both directions closed due to flooding between A46 (Cattlemarket Roundabout , Newark on Trent) and The Fox Inn (Kelham Bridge, Kelham).
  • A617 Beck Lane, Mansfield: A617 Beck Lane in both directions impassable due to flooding from A6075 to B6014 Mansfield Road.
  • Church Gate, Colston Bassett: Church Gate in both directions closed due to flooding from Hall Lane to Harby Lane.
  • Main Street, Lambley: Main Street in both directions closed due to flooding from Spring Lane to Church Street.
  • Nottingham Road, Southwell: Nottingham Road in both directions closed due to flooding from Halloughton Road to Lees Field.
  • Ton Lane, Lowdham: Ton Lane in both directions closed due to flooding from A6097 Epperstone Bypass to Main Street.
