Jamie Noble died in an accident on the A9.
A COMMUNITY effort to support the family of a Nairn man who died in a car crash on the A9 last week has raised almost £9000 in a matter of days.[2][3]
A JustGiving page was set up on Thursday[4] last week following the tragic incident in which truck driver Jamie Noble (30) lost his life.
So far more than 300 people have donated to the fund which was set up by friend Robert Maclean to support Jamie’s fiancée Morven and his young son Daniel.
As of today, a total of £8620 has been pledged.
Nairn Provost Laurie Fraser praised the community spirit shown in response.
He said: “It’s very good to see such a good response, it will be a big help after such a tragic loss.
“We are a small town where everybody knows everyone so my thoughts are with the family at this tragic time.”
Mr Noble died in the incident that took place just before 2am last Tuesday between North Kessock and Tore, south of the junction with the B9161 for Munlochy.
A number of heartfelt tributes[5] have been shared on the JustGiving page alongside the donations.
Gerry Allan said: “As a fellow tipper driver for past 25 years, was saddened to hear of the death of this young guy, doing a job he obviously loved, to provide for his child and partner.”
Zoe Keith wrote: “Our hearts go out to you all. Love from your family in Newcastle.”
John Fox added: “Thinking of all your family, partner Morven and your son Daniel and friends at this very sad time. Words can’t describe the impact, this has affected everyone.”
Thomas Crichton said: “Can’t believe that you’re gone mate, my heart goes out to Morven, Daniel and your family mate. Angela , Rebecca, James my thoughts are with you also.”
Debbie Macgillivray wrote: “Rest easy Jamie. You were a good friend to us. Send lots of love to Morven and wee Dan and also the rest of Jamie’s family and friends.”
The incident sparked a Police Scotland appeal for information last week.
Anyone with information can call police on 101, quoting incident 0184 of 12 March, 2024.
