Nottinghamshire A60 live updates as police close road after ‘serious collision’ involving lorry and car
Police have closed a main Nottinghamshire[1] road in both directions after a “serious collision” involving a lorry and a car. The A60 Loughborough Road in Ruddington[2] was shut at around 12.20pm on Friday, November 15 following the crash.
The closure is in place between Nottingham Knight Island and Ashworth Avenue. Nottinghamshire Police[3] advised motorists to avoid the area and said the road would likely remain closed “for some time”.
“We have closed the A60 Loughborough Road in both directions, from the Nottingham Knight roundabout to Ashworth Avenue, due to a serious collision involving a car and a lorry,” the force said in a post on X.
“Motorists are advised to avoid the area. The road is likely to remain closed for some time.”
Traffic monitoring site Inrix said: “A60 Loughborough Road in both directions closed, queueing traffic due to accident, a lorry and a car involved between A52 Clifton[4] Boulevard (Nottingham Knight Island, Nottingham) and Ashworth Avenue (Ruddington).”
Both Nottingham City Transport’s 9 and 10 services are being diverted.
