Nottingham tram line blocked after crash with police at scene

A crash has taken place in Nottingham tonight (Tuesday) between what appears to be a city tram and a van. Images taken this evening appear to show an NET tram damaged at the scene. The above image, taken on University Boulevard, shows police[1] cars and emergency responders at the scene.

Police were stopping traffic going down the lanes heading to Dunkirk roundabout, as of 9.30pm. Shortly before 7pm, traffic monitoring service Inrix said: "A6005 University Boulevard Eastbound closed due to accident, a tram and a car involved between A6464 University Boulevard and East Drive." Around the same time, NET Nottingham Tram posted on X, formerly Twitter: "Service update: Due to a road traffic collision we currently have no service between NG2 and University Boulevard.

NCT Orange Line buses are accepting our tickets."

The situation has not been updated by NET in the intervening hours.
