Man, 30, dies after HGV plunges into river

The driver of a wagon that plunged into a North Yorkshire river has died, police have confirmed. North Yorkshire Police[1] have confirmed that a 30-year-old man has died after crashing his wagon into a bridge on the A684 in Bainbridge, Wensleydale, and into the River Bain today. The road remains shut while investigations continue.

The man, from Masham and who has not been named, died after his blue Volvo tipper HGV hit the bridge in the village, sending the wagon into the river below.

Members of the public rushed to save the man and called 999 but he died at the scene
