A48 crash: Three killed as car and lorry involved in horror collision
Three people have been killed following a terrifying crash involving a lorry and a car. Police are currently investigating the accident which occurred yesterday. Police have asked for witnesses to come forward with any information on the crash, which took place on the A48 near Bonvilston in the Vale of Glamorgan and resulted in the deaths of 3 men involved.
A 51-year-old man from Porthcawl, a 34-year-old man from Bridgend, and a 48-year-old man from Ferndale have all been declared dead after the crash, which 'shut down' the carriageway for hours. The collision occurred just before 5pm on Tuesday. A police spokesman said: "South Wales Police[1] is investigating a fatal road traffic collision which happened shortly before 5pm on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, on the A48 near Bonvilston in the Vale of Glamorgan.
"The collision involved two vehicles - a blue Ford Puma car and a red and black Scania tipper lorry. As a result of the collision a 51-year-old man from Porthcawl, a 34-year-old man from Bridgend, and a 48-year-old man from Ferndale have died. "The carriageway remained closed for several hours and officers would like to thank the local community for their patience and understanding at this time.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam footage to contact South Wales Police on 101 quoting occurrence number 2500102402."
