A52 QMC roundabout to close for evening and overnight roadworks this week

Closures will be in place on the A52 QMC roundabout for evening and overnight roadworks this week. It is the latest in a series of works taking place at the busy roundabout. There will be changes to bus services during the partial overnight closures from 7.45pm each night on April 14, 15, 16 and 17.

National Highways says the closures will affect the A52 both eastbound and westbound between Priory roundabout and Dunkirk island. Diversions will be in place. Nottingham City Transport said: "There are several nights of partial closures of QMC[1] Roundabout, affecting Orange 34/C, 35, 36 and N34 buses towards the City.

These works take place from 19:45-01:00 each night on 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th April. "Buses to University Park, Bulwell[2] or Chilwell are not affected. During this closure, buses towards City cannot serve the QMC bus stops on Derby Road.

Alternative stops are on Abbey Street or on Derby Road at Faraday Road. "Orange 34/C to City will follow its normal route to Dunkirk then divert along Abbey Street, left Gregory Street, right Derby Road to resume normal route. Orange N34 to City will follow its normal route within University Park Campus then exit through the South Entrance and divert along Abbey Street, left Gregory Street, right Derby Road to resume normal route.

"Orange 35 to City will follow its normal route along Wollaton[3] Vale then divert along Woodside Road, University Boulevard, Beeston Road, Dunkirk, Abbey Street, Gregory Street, right Derby Road to resume normal route. "Orange 36 to City will follow its normal route along Broadgate then divert right University Boulevard, Beeston Road, Dunkirk, Abbey Street, left Gregory Street, right Derby Road to resume normal route. "Customers on Woodside Road for City should cross the road and catch the diverted 35."

Works are taking place following damage caused to the bridge back in 2018, when it was hit by a lorry carrying an excavator.

Various closures have been in place over the last few months.

National Highways says it expects to complete all work by this summer.
