A52 Nottingham live updates

Three e-bike riders have been taken to hospital following a crash with two cars that has forced a major city road shut for the majority of the day. Police[1] - who were called out to the collision on the A52[2] Derby Road, in Lenton[3] - said the injuries sustained by the e-bike riders were not thought to be life-threatening in nature. Two men, aged 24 and 25, have been arrested[4] on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving after incident, which was reported just before 4.30am on Sunday (June 22). The section of road between the Priory Roundabout and Queen's Medical Centre[5] Roundabout, near where the crash happened, was closed off by police investigators and highways workers until after 6pm, when it reopened.

Superintendent Chris Sullivan of Nottinghamshire Police said: "This was a very serious incident and specialist collision investigators are working hard to understand exactly what happened. The collision has occurred on a major route into the city and close to the Queen's Medical Centre so will unfortunately cause disruption to motorists during today. "Our inquiries are at a very early stage and we want to hear from anyone with any information which could assist.

We'd particularly urge anyone who was driving in the area at the time and has relevant dashcam footage to get in touch without delay." Anyone who can help should call 101, quoting incident number 136 of June 22, 2025, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. Nottinghamshire Police also closed a section of the A52 between Queen's Medical Centre[7] and Dunkirk Roundabout due to concerns for a man's safety, but this stretch has now also been reopened.
