Nottinghamshire Police releases two drivers on bail after A52 crash involving e-bikes

Two men who were arrested after a serious crash involving three e-bikes and two cars have been released on bail. The A52 Derby Road was closed[1] for 14 hours following the crash, which happened just before 4.30am on Sunday, June 22, between the Priory Roundabout and the Queen's Medical Centre[2]. Two men, aged 24 and 25, were arrested[3] on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving but have since been released on bail with strict conditions[4], Nottinghamshire Police[5] confirmed today (Monday, June 23.)

Three e-bike riders were taken to hospital for treatment of their injuries, which are not thought to be life-threatening. Superintendent Chris Sullivan of Nottinghamshire Police previously said: "This was a very serious incident and specialist collision investigators are working hard to understand exactly what happened." Superintendent Sullivan added: "Our inquiries are at a very early stage and we want to hear from anyone with any information which could assist.

"We'd particularly urge anyone who was driving in the area at the time and has relevant dashcam footage to get in touch without delay." Anyone who can help should call 101, quoting incident number 136 of June 22, 2025, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
