A4 crash: Tributes to ‘shining star’ killed in Corsham

Rosa Taylor, a student at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts Sixth Form College, died on the A4 Bath Road at Corsham while travelling to a performance. The 19-year-old was a passenger in a Hyundai i10 that was involved in a crash with a Scania Tipper HGV at the junction with the B3109 at around 1.30pm on Thursday, July 24. Rosa's father Gareth Taylor led the tributes to a talented performer who was loved by many people.

"She was the very definition of a spirit that shines brightly and dies young, loved by anyone who met her. "She was at once the most talented, most beautiful, and loving soul I've ever known."

A fundraiser to support Rosa's family has been launched by Pick 'N' Mix Parties, a children's entertainment group Rosa was part of. It has raised more than GBP12,000 at the time of writing. Those wishing to donate can do so via the group's GoFundMe page.[1]

Organiser Kelly Bryant-Cunningham said: "She performed for so many children of Liverpool during her time with Pick 'N' Mix, giving them the birthday they deserved, now it's our turn to do it for our Rosa. "Rosa was a shining star, so full of life, love and talent. A real-life princess who had a passion for dancing, singing and acting.

She will forever be part of our Pick 'N' Mix family. "Your laughter, your kindness, and your spirit will stay with us forever." Suggested reading

The Beggars Belief Collective theatre group had announced that she was touring with them in Wiltshire and elsewhere before the crash. The group has cancelled their tour, saying they were "sorry" to make the decision. Rosa previously performed with multiple theatre companies, including the Liverpool Empire Youth Theatre.

A spokesperson for WowLiverpool drama school said: "Rosa joined us in January and had just performed in our most recent show at The Liverpool Playhouse. "For anyone who saw her, we're sure you can agree that she lit up the stage with her charisma, expression, beauty, and her stunning voice. "She will forever be our 'Sparkling Diamond'."

The female driver and male passenger in the car also sustained serious injuries. Wiltshire Police is appealing for witnesses to the crash. A spokesperson for the force added: "Any witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage should contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 01225 694597 quoting log 54250100571

"Alternatively you can contact the team directly by emailing [email protected]."
