Gyorgy Brachna was driving his Honda Civic on the A590 at Newby Bridge on July 7 last year when he was involved in a two-vehicle road traffic accident, South Cumbria Magistrates' Court heard.

Ulverston pensioner failed to provide breath test A pensioner has been banned from driving after staff at a supermarket alerted her to the police. Lynne Granville, of Plumpton, Ulverston, admitted failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis on May 30 last month.

Drink-driving Walney mum crashed after checking on dad with dementia A MOTHER crashed her car while over the legal alcohol limit after becoming concerned that her father with dementia was not answering his phone, a court heard. Andrea Savage crashed her Citroen Relay into the central reservation on the A590 at North Road opposite the Brewer's Fayre pub on May 2 last month, prosecutor Lee Dacre told South Cumbria Magistrates' Court.
