A man has died after a tipper lorry crashed near a roundabout in South Ayrshire.

The 41-year-old driver of a Ford Transit Tipper was pronounced dead at the scene on the A77 near the Sandyford Roundabout after the crash at about 13:35 on Monday.

Police closed the road, near Monkton, for about seven hours during an initial investigation, before it reopened at about 20:30.

Sgt Martin Cunningham urged any drivers with dash-cam footage from the area at the time of the crash to contact officers[1].
