23-year-old man dies in A1 crash that shut road for 10 hours
A 23-year-old man has died after a two-vehicle collision on a major Nottinghamshire road. Police[1] say that the man who died was in an Audi A3, which collided with a Renault Traffic Van. A woman, who was also in the Audi, was injured, but those injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. The emergency services were called to North Muskham following the crash on the A1 near Newark at 8.30pm (Thursday, September 18).
The A1 was closed overnight and reopened shortly before 7am today (Friday September 19). Detective Sergeant Charlotte Henson, of Nottinghamshire Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "The man's family is being supported by specialist officers following this tragic incident. "They have asked for privacy at what must be an extremely difficult time.
"We'd still like to hear from anyone with any relevant dashcam footage of the incident who has not yet spoken to an officer, or anyone who may have witnessed the collision."
