Van and car in latest crash at blackspot above A500

Two vehicles were damaged following the latest collision at a blackspot by the A500. Police[1] and highways crews were called to Alsager Road's junction with the A500 on the outskirts of Audley[2] this morning.

The smash, which involved a car and van, represents at least the third smash on that stretch in recent weeks. Last month and a woman was left with 'serious injuries' following a collision between a tipper lorry and a car. [3] Advertisement

Later in September and police and paramedics were on the scene above the A500 again when a two-car smash left two in the Royal Stoke.[4] This morning and Staffordshire Police say officers were sent to the scene at 7.40am.

An image taken at the time shows a van and car - both with front-end damage. The force says nobody was injured.

West Midlands Ambulance Service[5] has confirmed paramedics did not attend.

A police spokeswoman said: "We were called following reports of a collision.

Two vehicles were involved. No one was reported injured. Recovery was arranged for one of the vehicles.

Highways were informed due to oil on the road.

The road has since been cleared."
