A10 Ware bypass: Driver arrested following fatal crash

The man, in his 60s, was driving a grey Porsche Cayenne which collided with a red Fiat 500 and a white Volvo Tipper Lorry, and is suspected of causing death by dangerous driving. He has been bailed while enquiries continue. Both the Fiat and the lorry were stationary at the time of the crash, and the Fiat driver, a woman in her 60s, was out of the vehicle.
Despite the best efforts of emergency services, she sadly died at the scene. DC Lewis Stanley from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: "My thoughts are with the woman's loved ones at this difficult time. "They are being supported by specially trained officers."
The incident occurred around 8.50am at a layby on the A10's southbound carriageway between Rush Green and Great Amwell. Herts police and fire services, the East of England Ambulance Service and the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance attended. The road was closed for several hours after the crash, reopening fully around 4.30pm.
DC Stanely continued: "We are working to establish how the collision occurred and I want to hear from anybody who saw what happened, or the vehicles involved. If you think you have information that could help, please get in touch. "I would also like to ask that anybody who was driving in the area around that time with a dashcam to please get in touch.
