Family heartbreak after woman dies in layby crash

A family have described their heartbreak after a woman died when a vehicle hit her as she stood in a layby.

Michelle Strachan, 60, had stopped on her way to work when it happened at about 08:50 GMT on 5 January, on the A10 between Hertford and Broxbourne.

Hertfordshire Police said the vehicles involved included a grey Porsche Cayenne, a red Fiat 500, which the woman had been driving, and a white Volvo tipper lorry- the last two had been stationary.

The driver of the Porsche, a man in his 60s, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been bailed by police.
