Police are appealing for more information following a fail to stop collision on the M56

Police are appealing for witnesses after a van failed to stop following a crash on the M56. Officers from Cheshire Police were called at 5.43am on Tuesday, February 10, to reports of a crash on the eastbound carriageway between junction 12 (Runcorn) and junction 14 (Hapsford).

The incident is reported to have involved a Ford Transit Tipper and a silver van[1]. No serious injuries were reported, police said.

However, the driver of the silver van did not stop at the scene and is believed to have continued travelling in the direction of Manchester.

Enquiries are ongoing and officers[2] are urging anyone who witnessed the crash, or who may have dashcam footage from the area at the time, to come forward.

Police are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have noted the registration number[3] of the silver van.
