Witness appeal over hit-and-run crash on M56 near Hapsford

Cheshire Police is investigating the fail to stop incident that occurred on the motorway near Runcorn last week. At 5.43am on Tuesday, February 10, officers were called to a crash on the M56 eastbound between junctions 12 for Runcorn and 14 for Hapsford. The caller reported that there had been a road traffic collision between a Ford Transit Tipper and a silver van.

Thankfully, there were no reports of any serious injuries, but the driver of the van failed to stop and made off towards Manchester. A Cheshire Police spokesman said: "Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing. "Officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, or anyone with any dashcam footage.

"They are also keen to hear from anyone with the registration number of the silver van."
