The occupants of a Fiat Punto had a 'lucky escape' after the car plunged down an embankment during a police[1] chase in Nottinghamshire.
Officers began following the vehicle at around 9pm on Monday, March 2 when its driver was spotted allegedly 'turning recklessly' onto Ollerton Road near Worksop[2], according to Nottinghamshire Police.
The force said the car was then driven at speed away from officers on the A57 and through a red light, and made contact with the side of a lorry during an alleged "reckless overtaking manoeuvre".
Shortly after getting onto the A60 towards Mansfield[3], the driver reportedly lost control careered across the carriageway and down an embankment.
Two men, aged 18 and 19, were arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop, drug driving and theft.
One was also arrested on suspicion of cannabis possession.

PC Mark Holland, of the Worksop neighbourhood policing team, said: "The occupants of this vehicle had a lucky escape after the driver lost control and plunged down an embankment.
"As our investigation into what happened continues, we'd like to hear from any additional witnesses who may have seen this vehicle in motion and recorded dashcam footage of it."
