Van driver goes missing after crash as cops launch urgent appeal

A VAN driver is missing after his wrecked vehicle was discovered crashed off a road in the Scottish Borders.

Jordan Douglas, 33, is believed to have been behind the wheel at time of the crash shortly after midnight this morning.

The black Vauxhall[1] Vivaro was found extensively damaged off the A1107 at Old Cambus[2], just 11 miles south of Dunbar, East Lothian.

But responding emergency crews found no sign of the driver.

An urgent search was launched after the crash scene was discovered.

Concerns are growing for Jordan as police[3] believe he may have been injured in the smash.

Cops[4] also issued a description to help in their search.

He is described as white, around 5ft 6ins, with brown hair.

It is not known what he is wearing.

Inspector Billy Telford said: “Around 00.20am on Saturday, 6 July, we received a report of a one vehicle crash on a road off the A1107 and when officers attended there was no sign of the driver.

“The van had significant damage and we are concerned the driver may be injured so it is important to make sure he is safe and well.

“We are asking anyone who has seen Jordan or who knows where he might be to get in touch. Likewise, if Jordan hears about this appeal please make contact so we know you are safe and well.”

Anyone who can assist is asked to call Police Scotland[5] on 101, quoting incident number 0083 of Saturday, July 6, 2024.
